Healthy Banana Ice Cream

I love making banana ice cream! It’s so easy and has an amazing consistency compared to store-bought ice cream. And the best part is, you can make just about any flavor you can think of. You don’t even have to worry about it going well with banana because the banana flavor is neutral enough to go with a ton of different toppings and mix-ins. Try your favorite flavor today!

Healthy Banana Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 4-5 ripe bananas
  • 2 Tbs. natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 bar dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Peel bananas, slice them into thick slices and place them in a gallon-sized ziploc bag.
  2. Freeze bananas overnight for best results, or at least 3-4 hours.
  3. Place bananas, and peanut butter in a food processor and blend until smooth.
  4. DO NOT OVERMIX or ice cream will become runny.
  5. Using a cheese grater, shave chocolate bar and place shavings on top of ice cream.
  6. If you prefer harder ice cream, put mixture in a freezer safe container and put it back in the freezer for an hour.
  7. Scoop ice cream into a bowl and enjoy!

Tips: If you have trouble getting your ice cream to blend, try adding some unsweetened vanilla almond milk, just enough to make your blender work.

You can make a ton of different combinations of ice cream, just use the frozen banana as a base and build from there. Here are my some of my favorite combinations:

  • Strawberry Banana
  • Blueberry Banana
  • Mixed Berry (Blueberry, Red Raspberry, Black Raspberry)
  • Coconut, Almond, Banana
