5 Grill Recipes to Make Your Weeknights So Much Easier

With summer coming to a close, there are still those trying to get the last few weeks out of their grill cooking they can. Personally, I love grilled food. There’s something special that a grill does to even the simplest ingredients to really make every meal feel special. My husband and I recently got a charcoal grill and have been experimenting with different meals and enjoying every second of it.

One of my favorite things to make over the grill or the campfire is Foil Babies. I grew up eating Foil Babies every time we went camping and now my family has started incorporating them just as easy weeknight meals that require minimal clean up.

What Is A Foil Baby?

A Foil Baby is essentially a foil packet you fill with your favorite food and cook over the fire or on the grill. When we were younger and camping, we would line up the canned veggies, potatoes, meats and spices and everyone would build their own dinner. It was so much fun experimenting with the different combinations of foods and spices to make some of the best camping food we’d ever had.

Good News: You Can Make Foil Babies Even When You Aren’t Camping

Foil Babies aren’t just for camping. All you need to do is lay out a piece of foil about 12 x 12 inches. Scoop all of your ingredients into the middle and then fold up two opposite sides and roll the top over itself to close. Then, just roll each side of the foil in and your have your perfect foil pocket. Cook them on the grill for about 20-30 minutes, or over the fire for about 15 minutes and keep checking them periodically because they can burn quickly. For the ingredients, just add your choice of meat (chicken works well), vegetables, a little grassfed butter and whatever spices you like and you can build any kind of easy dinner you want. Try these recipes and get great inspiration for any day of the week.

Our family loves the Ranch Chicken and Potatoes best, but try them all and see what works for you! Feel free to mix up the recipes, too! You never know what combination may be your family’s next favorite dish!
